The Master's Message
October 2025
Greetings from the East,
Now that the weather has begun to cool, our dress code will be formal (coat and tie) for our October Stated Meeting, and will remain so for the rest of our Stated Meetings for 2025. We wish a hearty congratulations to our dear Bros. Tomas Corza and Hormazd "Homi" Bhandari on being Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason! You are both cherished members of our lodge, and we look forward to your continued Masonic labors among us.
Join us on Saturday October 11th from 10 AM to 2 PM as Reseda Lodge and Widows Sons Lux Aeterna host our 2nd Annual Bike and Car Show! Open to Masons, friends, and family. Enjoy freshly grilled burgers and hot dogs as well as a fantastic collection of cars and motorcycles, and help support our Masonic youth orders! Thank you, Worshipful Paul Russell for making this event possible!
Our lodge is in sorrow over the passing of our longtime Treasurer, Wor. Bro. Jim Jarnagin. We will host a Celebration of Life on October 30th, his birthday. Come share your favorite memories and stories among friends and family. Refreshments to follow.
Our brothers will be working hard this month and next month to complete their qualifications, and I look forward to seeing our brothers advance their stations. I am thankful for the dedicated brothers who will be joining next year's Officers line. We will have our Election of Officers at the end of our November Stated Meeting, and our Annual Installation of Officers on Saturday, December 6th, ceremony at 5 pm. Mark your calendars and join us!
Having concluded a solid month of transformative degree work, it is salutary and beneficial to reflect on the significance and impact of our Masonic labors. Our rituals and their symbols are meant to speak to us across multiple dimensions of our mind and being. They have relevance to our emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual lives. We are wise to use all of our faculties when trying to unravel their mysteries. While some of us are naturally intellectuals who favor rational analysis, we should also open ourselves to new insights through emotion, imagination, and intuition. Doing so, we can find different meanings arising from an image, a word, a statement, or a dramatized event. All of these meanings have value without just one of them having to be the "right" or "best" one for any single Mason, let alone all Masons. These insights should be transformative in our relationships with God and our fellow human beings.
I pray that the Great Architect of the Universe bless and enrich our minds and hearts, as we continue to enjoy the profundities of our Craft and the comfort of brotherly love.
Cordially and Fraternally,
Daniel Rivera, PM
